They have been flowering for the past three years. The flowers dry out and fall without bearing fruits. The maximum temprature is currently about 29 degrees C. Other trees in my city bear ample fruits.
Why does my three (12 year old) Mango trees flower but without bearing fruits?
Mango blooms seem to be up to 98% male, but that would still give you a few fruit; though of course the tree could have industrious bugs or molds or infections that somehow derail it or force all blooms to male.
Thrown any new mulch or minerals or 4 cubic yards of topsoil at that tree lately? Perhaps it's the radon font for the neighborhood? Inspected the blooms for a few female flowers (typically the ones on the growth spurs of the branches?) Do you trim it or something?
Have that groundwater tested if nothing else makes sense.
The tree might know what is good for you.
Reply:Insure correct soil fertility, humidity. Add fruit inducing enzymes to trees of correct age. Modify the environment to approximate the tree's fruiting season. Report It
Reply:Your mango trees might not be getting enough nutrients... do you give them fertilizer? or spray the flowers with inducer-chemicals...
if you're not doing any of these, then it is not surprising that they are not bearing any fruits.
also, insects might be damaging the flowers
Reply:Try planting flowers and other flowering bushes, like the butterfly bush, this will attract more bees to the area and make sure it gets watered.
Reply:no pollination?
Reply:All the above answers could be it but most commonly the reason for it is a disease on the flowers and the fertilisation process is ruined. There is a spray you can get for it but I cannot remember all the details off the top of my head.
Reply:If u know.... there r male and female plants as well. Its called "dioecious"
best eg: wud be a papaya tree... it will grow very well with a lot of flowers but will never bear a single fruit... coz its a male tree... the female counter part is lacking in the tree. ur's cud be the same reason. But try some kind of artifical pollination. Orelse its best to use the tree for shade purpose.
Reply:Probably cause your mango trees are ornamental rather than fruit bearing. Try cutting them down and planting something else in their place that WILL bear fruit.
Reply:same sex fruit trees also have males and females
Reply:you probably have all females - not being smart.
Reply:It is probably because they are not getting polinated. Atract butterflies and bees by planting honeysuckle around the tree. Or you can go to Home Depot and buy some ladybugs, (really, they sell them in the spring!)
When you buy ladybugs though, you want to release them onto the tree in the evening because ladybugs do not fly around at night. Also, ladybugs eat disease-causing insects like aphids, which may be the cause of the lack of fruit.
