How do i dry flowers?

i have a couple roses that i would like to dry, so i can save them for later. and i was wondering how do i dry them? my grandma once told me that once theyre done drying (she never told me how to dry them though) that you spray them with hairspray does that work?

I always hung the flowers upsidedown.
Reply:i usually leave them in the vase (container) until all of the water has evaporated, then a couple days later, it is wise to turn them upside down, that way they stay looking like happy flowers. you can also press them between heavy books with newspaper on either side to absorb the moisture, although you should change the paper every couple of days until they are dry.
Reply:My mom uses a powdered form of silica, you can find it at your bigger craft stores.
