Use some miracle grow on it. Also water it daily, make sure the soil it is in is nutritious and healthy. As long as your soil is good your plants will grow healthy.
Reply:Dead head it,,in other words cut it way back..and then pour used coffee grounds all around it for a couple weeks and water....coffee grounds contain alot of nitrogen and will bring sick plants back to life..egg shells crushed around it is good too..but let the shells dry a few days..for if still wet ants will attract to it..
Reply:Hi, I thought mine were old! (Thirty Years) I really hope we can save that rose bush! First check to see if there are any visible bugs. If there are, wash it off with a solution of dish washing liquid and water. Use soap and not detergent. Than look to see if you can find the Bud Eyes. That's where the new growth begins, and on a bush that old they will be difficult to locate. When you find them, with sharp cutting pruners, cut a 45 degree angle above it and use either pruners sealer, or (I use this) white Elmer's Glue to seal where you have cut. That prevents any disease from entering the cane. Than till around the base of the plant with a handheld cultivator. Make sure the knob at the base ,is above the dirt, and use some ,"Bayer Rose and Flower Food" .That has a Systemic insecticide in it and prevents bugs. One cupful per bush, and work it into the soil. I would also mix some Potting Soil ,or Grow-mulch and some Vermiculite into the soil. Make a little well around the bottom, and fill it with water. Water in deep about twice a week if it's really hot outside. Also when you prune, Cut out any cross branches in the middle, to allow for air circulation. Seal with glue, I hope we save it, good luck,Bye
Reply:You should always cut off the dead parts! It will cause the nutrients to only help the still healthy parts and let the flowers bloom - you should prune at least once every other week.
